Back in 2009, Drake performed a show in Toronto at Sound Academy just before he signed with Lil Wayne and Young Money. Until recently, the footage was thought to be lost or destroyed. Thankfully, it has been re-discovered and turned into a feature film titled Homecoming that is set to hit theaters next week. Along with the footage of the show, the film will also include interviews from Jas Prince, who is credited with discovering Drake, and his father J. Prince, who was also influential in the process.
With the release of the film drawing near, we bring you an exclusive clip from the film where Jas talks about first introducing Lil Wayne to Drake’s music and putting them on a phone call together that lead to Drake eventually being signed by Young Money. “Wayne told me he sucked,” Jas Prince says in the clip. “He was like, ‘Jas, don’t play me that shit no more. He’s not good.’”
Dame Dash revealed a rare story on his favorite record from Reasonable Doubt, being Brooklyn’s Finest. Dame opened up on telling Jay-z to record his verses after Biggie, but Jay Z would immediately hit the studio and set the tone for the classic track. It took Biggie nearly 4 months to record the verse, as him and Jay originally planned to shoot a video to the song but Puff Daddy never signed off for his artist to contribute to the visual.
Police are rushing to Lil Wayne‘s Miami Beach mansion after someone called the cops and said they intended to start a firefight with officers. The person claimed 4 people had already been shot.
Miami PD raced to the home on ritzy La Gorce Island … and have set up a perimeter.
The bizarre report comes 11 days after police raced to the home to check on a report of a suspicious person lurking outside the home. Cops let the guy go because when they arrived he was on public property.
As for today’s incident … we’re told Wayne is in Miami but is not at home.
Police now believe this might be a case of “swatting” … where someone places a prank emergency call in order to prompt a full force response from cops.
