Snoop Dogg and DJ Khaled are taking their talents to Las Vegas. The two rap entertainers will be resident hip-hop acts at Sin City’s famed TAO Nightclub. Snoop is bringing back his Snoopadelic Cabaret. Described as a “roaring 20s speakeasy experience,” Snoop will serves as MC and will headline each night with a DJ set (as DJ Snoopadelic) and live performance. Snoop’s Vegas event will return March 28 with additional dates on May 2 and May 23. DJ Khaled’s We The Best: Vegas Edition residency will kick off at TAO on May 1.
TAO Nightclub, located in the storied Venetian Resort, is one of the highest grossing clubs on the Vegas Strip. It frequently hosts A-list parties including Kim Kardashian-West’s last birthday soiree and huge fight night events.
Before Snoop takes on the Entertainment Capital of the World, he’s putting work in on his upcoming album Bush. The Doggfather recently debuted the cover art for the project, which is executive produced by frequent collaborator Pharrell. Late last month Snoop and Skateboard P unveiled a trailer of sorts for the album, which shows the two in the studio grooving to beats off the project. After debuting the LP’s first single ‘Peaches N Cream’ during a pre-Grammy party back in early February, the official version should be touching down soon.
Atlanta rapper Rocko and another man were jailed Friday in Monroe County after the two were reportedly seen racing up Interstate 75 in a Rolls Royce and a BMW. Rocko, whose name is Rodney Ramone Hill Jr., was at the wheel of a late-model Rolls Royce Phantom when a Monroe deputy caught up with him near Forsyth about 1:30 p.m., said sheriff’s Lt. Brad Freeman.
Hill, 36, was not cited for speeding because the cars had slowed considerably when deputies spotted them, Freeman said. But Hill, also known as Rocko Da Don, was arrested on a pair of charges that included driving with a suspended license. The driver of a BMW that had been heading north with Hill kept going at speeds in excess of 150 mph, Freeman said.
Deputies found the BMW backed in at a gas station at the Johnsonville Road exit, a few miles north of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Its driver, Jason Philbert Wright, 26, of Decatur, faces felony fleeing-and-eluding charges and a string of traffic violations, a jail official said.
Hill, who according to his Wikipedia page has children with R&B singer Monica, scored a 2013 hit with the song “U.O.E.N.O.” His 2008 hip-hop album “Self Made” was also popular. Rolls Royces like the one he was said to be driving Friday cost about $500,000. But the license plate on it had expired and Hill was cited.
“You’d think a man with a Rolls Royce could afford a tag. But apparently not,” Freeman said. When Wright, the guy in the Beemer, didn’t stop, the deputy who had pulled over Hill gave chase, Freeman said. Hill later showed up at the Johnsonville Road exit — apparently to check on Wright, who was in custody, Freeman said.
By then, deputies had learned that Hill’s license was suspended and that his tag had expired, and they arrested him, Freeman said. Freeman said Wright was “part of (Hill’s) entourage, for lack of a better term.”
Wright was being held at the Monroe jail Friday evening. Hill paid a $784 cash bond and was released after an hour or so
Nicki Minaj phoned into BBC Radio1Xtra for an interview with Charlie Sloth. She also touched on various subjects including her relationship with Meek Mill and her two cents on Tyga claims of appearing on the original version for Truffle Butter and internal family feud between Lil Wayne and Birdman, that’s currently centered around a $51 million dollar lawsuit.
