A rare 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France Berlinetta is heading to the auction block in Gooding & Company‘s 16th Annual Pebble Beach sale. This particular version is the fourth of only 36 single-louver Tour de France Berlinetta’s built from the total run of 78 Ferrari 250 GT TdF Berlinettas ever produced.
The legendary Ferrari was delivered new to the Swedish racing driver Sture Nottorp in the late ’50s and later saw fellow racing driver Kjell Lundberg take ownership. In 2012, the car received a complete Concours-quality restoration and was finished in a period grey and red livery. The competition-ready Ferrari is complemented by a light grey leather interior and features rare Heuer stopwatches, each mounted in a unique rally-inspired setup on a retro wrinkle-finish dashboard.
Having claimed a Platinum Award at the 2013 Cavallino Classic, a first-place Blue Ribbon at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and a “Premio d’Onore” award at Italy’s 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, this Ferrari is a true prized piece. As a result, its estimated auction price is between $5,500,000 – $6,000,000 USD.
Joining the Ferrari 250 GT TdF Berlinetta is another rare model, a 1-of-99 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS and an original example of the 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The two accompanying Ferrari’s are estimated to sell between $2,000,000 – $2,400,000 USD and $750,000 – $850,000 USD respectively.
