Earlier this year, Gucci came under fire for allegedly plagiarising Dapper Dan for the Italian label’s Spring/Summer 2018 Resort collection. Not only did Gucci go on to confirm that the Harlem-based designer and bootlegger was an influence, the brand also announced that there would be a Fall/Winter 2018 collaboration between the two, with Dapper Dan going on to front the label’s Fall/Winter 2017 Men’s Tailoring campaign.

In another joint move, Gucci also announced that it would work with Dapper Dan to reopen his Harlem atelier. The new 4,700 sq. foot space is set to feature Gucci fabrics, prints, embroidered patches and hardware, allowing Dapper Dan to use the label’s materials for his own designs. The space comprises of a ground-level storefront, with a parlour floor above as well as a production area. The atelier’s also comes with a luxe decor, with vintage furniture, red wall panels, studded velvet screens and photographs from Dapper Dan’s past.

Dapper Dan is set to start taking bookings for the space in January 2018. In other fashion news, a retrospective exhibition curated by the late Azzedine Alaïa is set to take place in London.

Gucci GG Jacquard Wool Cardigan
Subtlety is not in Gucci‘s vocabulary. Alessandro Michele made it a mission to guide the brand to a whimsical and elaborate place.
Ending the year is a GG Jacquard Wool Cardigan that debuted in the Resort 2018 collection. The logo cover is completed by gold trim and pearl-like buttons. It’s no ugly Christmas sweater but the mood is the same.

Gucci embellished cat logo print hoodie sweatshirt
We were obsessed with Gucci’s embellished cat T-shirt when it released, but now the temperature has dropped, it’s officially sweater-weather. So it seems like a purrfect coincidence that Gucci has also unveiled this cute kitty in the form of an oversized hoodie.
This 100 per-cent cotton hoodie arrives in an off-white, ivory tone and features Gucci’s iconic logo emblazoned in trademark gold, green and red across the chest. The glitzy cat really steals the show, however, as it’s fully embellished in sequins that glimmer in the light. Rounding off this cozy-luxe look is a drawstring hood, kangaroo pocket, dropped shoulders and ribbed trims.
You can cop this extravagant hoodie at retailers like Harvey Nichols for £1100 GBP (approx. $1466 USD).

Gucci‘s Pre-Fall 2018 collection is ambitious and dreamy. The colorful garments meshed with the iconic brand logo makes for a picturesque lookbook.

Creative director Alessandro Michele‘s vibrant imagination brings the looks to life, while Rome serves as the perfect backdrop. The Italian capital was selected as the shoot location by Michele and Gucci to pay homage to films crafted by director Dario Argento. The collection takes Gucci fans on a journey through eccentric outerwear, printed two-piece sets and practical accessories. A standout item is the rainbow-hued socks that adorn almost every look, appearing in tan, blue, red and more colors. Also styled with the gaudy clothing are diamond-adorned headbands and numerous Gucci x Major League Baseball caps. Materials used widely throughout the collection are knit, silk and wool.

The brand’s logo effortlessly takes center stage more than once, with over-the-knee boots featuring an all-over print in brown and red. This season, Michele isn’t afraid to experiment with mixing textures or colors to create street style-worthy outfits.
