FRESH KICKS: NIKE / FILA

After receiving a sneak peek at Kendrick Lamar and Nike’s “DAMN.” Cortez, we recently received a first look at the next collaborative shoe from the artist and sneaker giant. Playing with the silhouette of Nike’s retro Cortez runner once again, the upcoming Kung Fu Kenny-inspired colorway features a contrasting red and white upper accented by a large Swoosh on the sides of the shoe and a classic Cortez sole unit. While Chinese script on the toe area and a “DON’T TRIP” lace holder finish the design of the shoe.

Nike has released its latest Air Max 95 Premium, this time coming in a colorway that’ll be perfect for these colder months. The upper stripes come in beige, navy and cyan, while the midsole use a speckled black finish. To finish off the shoe is the classic air max bubble in the heel.

with the Nike Air Max 95 Premium available from select retailers such as 43Einhalb, the shoe represents a relatively classic release for the sportswear behemoth, having recently given the big logo treatment to some of its 95 models — including the “slate” edition.

With the white Virgil Abloh x Nike Air Jordan 1 expected to release in 2018, another new colorway isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Instagram leak source @py_rates has revealed new information about a potential drop of the sneaker in a University Blue colorway.

Little is known about the forthcoming Virgil Abloh x Nike releases for 2018. This potential leak could reveal the plans for future drops, with more colorways being released throughout the year instead of new silhouettes. Fellow sneaker-minded account @zsneakerheadz offered up a mock-up of the new Air Jordan 1 colorway, which would see the classic sneaker emblazoned with hits of UNC blue, instead of the usual black and red. The rest of the sneaker features the usual white leather.

Expected to retail for $190 USD, the release date is currently a vague “2018,” without any specifics. Stay tuned though, we’ll update you as soon as the news is revealed. Would you cop this colorway? As seen in an iconic ’90s photograph, Tupac had a lot of love for Grant Hill‘s second signature sneaker. The FILA 96, recently dubbed the 96GL, was worn by the basketball star and rapper alike and is due for a Tupac-referencing remodel.

Featuring a black leather upper and red rubber outsole, the sneaker includes several nods to the rapper. The outside of the shoe boasts “ALL EYEZ ON ME” embroidered over a cross, a reference to one of Tupac’s tattoos. Meanwhile, the sneaker’s tongue features a paisley print, in line with the occasional patterned bandana worn by Tupac, and the insole features an “ALL EYEZ ON ME” print. Other details are kept intact, like the shoe’s tonal shoelaces, branding on the toe and rear, strapped pull tab.

Releasing in line with Tupac biopic All Eyez On Me‘s Japanese debut, the “All Eyez on Me” FILA 96GL will release at domestic stockists like atmos on December 23 for ¥15,000 JPY (approximately $130 USD). Meanwhile, more Tupac media is on the way: a new trailer has debuted for February’s Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G..

Shortly after Ronnie Fieg dropped off pairs of the KITH x Nike LeBron 15 at his former high school, another edition of LeBron James’ 15th signature model has surfaced.

This edition strays away from the collaboration and displays a color combination that we’re accustomed to seeing during the playoffs. Dipped in black coloring, its upper welcomes back the Battle-Knit construction while the sole unit remains the same as all LeBron 15 models. Metallic Gold detailing is added to the Swoosh on the heel and “LJ” logo down the front tab. The design is completed thanks to an icy translucent outsole that shares James’ Lion Head logo and black Swoosh.

Currently there’s no official word as to when this colorway of the Nike LeBron 15 will drop, stay tuned for additional information and let us know your thoughts.

This past November, Nike unveiled an Air Max 95 silhouette outfitted with contrast pull-tabs. Following the tonal white iteration is a new colorway comprised of deep navy, brown, red, and white tones. The pull-tab for this one is an exact match with the inaugural version, sporting a red-trimmed white strap with staggered “N” lettering in navy and blue. To top it all off, the Swoosh equips the sneaker with a blacked out air bubble unit and an off-white cream midsole for a smooth contrast.
