In a recent interview with TODAY, LiAngelo notes that he was not thinking when he stole from a Louis Vuitton store in China with his fellow teammates and when he arrived back at the hotel they were staying at — he began to understand how thoughtless their actions were. After being arrested by police at their hotel, he and two other UCLA players spent a day and a half inside a Chinese prison, which LiAngelo notes was “horrible.” The UCLA players were stripped and forced to wear jumpsuits in a cement jail surrounded by officers that did not speak English.
Despite charges in China being dropped thanks to an intervention by President Donald Trump, LiAngelo was suspended by UCLA forcing him to miss much of the season. His father LaVar then decided to pull his son from the university and have him train on his own ahead of the upcoming NBA Draft. Listen to LaVar Ball and LiAngelo Ball talk about the incident and UCLA situation in full above and let us know what you think.
