Following the release of a PE cleated Air Jordan 13, the Michigan Wolverines will be ready for the harsh Michigan winters with their own Air Jordan 9 Boot NRG. Working with the newly weatherized silhouette, the team-exclusive subtly makes use of the school’s traditional blue and maize color scheme as hints of yellow can be found on the midsole and embroidered on the heal in the Michigan University insignia. A nod to the school’s chant, “GO BLUE,” appears embroidered in blue on the heel tab as well. This is all complemented by a black nubuck upper.
Jordan Brand and the Wolverines have steadily been producing PE’s this year however, like the others, there is no word yet if these will hit retail.
adidas Skateboarding and Pro team rider Na-Kel Smith have once again joined forces for a new striking iteration of the Matchcourt High RX silhouette. The latest model sees the high-top skate shoe in a sleek purple color scheme alongside crisp white accents for a smooth contrast.
The shade of purple was inspired by “Hollywood royalty and musical icons, with a regal flair and intricate detailing inspired by Na-Kel himself,” said the Three Stripes. Additionally, the sneaker is crafted out of premium Italian velvet and suede textiles. Of course, you can’t miss the gold foil lettering of Na-Kel’s name on the lateral sides. Conclusively, this marks the skater’s fourth signature colorway with the brand.
Check out Na-Kel Smith and adidas Skateboarding’s purple take on the Matchcourt High RX above and expect an official release at adidas’s official website and select stockists this December 15. Each pair is priced at approximately $80 USD.

Nike’s Air VaporMax has undoubtedly been one of the hit shoes of 2017 having released in numerous forms and collaborations, and it’s now received an all-suede look. The Nike VaporMax Leather is built from a mixture of suede and leather and was leaked back in November, but it’s now been given an official release date.
The inaugural VaporMax LTR will arrive swathed in a “Triple Black” colorway. The perforated suede upper carries a matte black aesthetic and notably, the Swoosh branding has been moved from the medial side to the heel of the shoe and is also indented into the suede material. Leather lines the interior of the new model adding a subtle, yet luxurious finish, while the upper rests on the signature VaporMax sole unit. The Nike Air VaporMax LTR “Triple Black” is set to hit Nike Sportswear retailers and the brand’s website on December 14 for a retail price of $225 USD.
Nike will be releasing a series of Air Max 97 colorways dedicated to specific countries, the latest of which is “Country Camo” — designed exclusively for Japan. To distinguish the shoes from its many counterparts, each sneaker comes with velcro decals on the tongue intended to represent the country’s flag.
And, if the black and olive camo motif looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s a continuation of a colorway first seen in 2013. The “Country Camo” is one of a few expected to drop as a pack, but this particular colorway will be releasing individually first of all at stores like atmos in Japan on December 9.
While you’re waiting for this sneaker to appear on wider release, take a look at another recent Air Max 97 colorway – set to drop at Nike retailers on December 14.
Nike continues to turn up the heat with OG iterations of its iconic Air Max 1 silhouette for the Fall/Winter 2017 season. Trailing behind the “Obsidian” colorway is the “Aqua” variant of the low-top to further celebrate the classic model’s 30th anniversary this year.
Set against white uppers, the pair is completed with light blue and grey suede/mesh overlays alongside a black outsole for good measure. Not to mention, splashes of purple detailing is also observed on the tongue branding, heel and insoles.
Peep the AM1 “Aqua” above and purchase the shoe at select retailers such as Afew starting on December 16. Each pair will set you back approximately $165 USD.
Nike’s SF AF-1 Mid continues its run with a new obsidian suede edition. The aforementioned suede takes the place of the expected tumbled leather while the military-inspired ballistic nylon returns to the heel area. Nike adds metallic gold as a complementary color on its industrial-like labeling and eyelets while the rest of the sneaker welcomes the deep blue obsidian hue. The dual zippers return to the heel for an easier entry in addition to the signature strap that surrounds the ankle.
Retailing at $160 USD, the Nike SF AF-1 Mid in obsidian suede currently doesn’t have a confirmed launch date, so stay tuned for additional information regarding this drop
