FRESH KICKS: OFF-WHITE / NIKE AIR MAX / ADIDAS / AIR FORCE 1S

Off-White™ Nike Air VaporMax Black 2018 Release Virgil Abloh
Just last week, we previewed an image of a white Air VaporMax model — alluding to a new venture between Virgil Abloh and Nike. Already flipping the sneaker world on its head with the previously launched Virgil Abloh x Nike’s “The Ten” collection, this rumored model would further solidify the bond between high fashion and footwear. New to our pages is this black iteration that combines creative elements from both brands.

Some key defining characteristics include the Off-White™-centric exposed stitching, “SHOELACES” & “AIR” text, along with the infamous zip tie, while Nike adds its trademark Swoosh logo, Flyknit construction and signature VaporMax sole unit to the party. Although release details have still yet to be confirmed, be sure to check back for future updates.

Adding to its series of lifestyle focussed Crazy 1 ADV iterations, adidas recently gave the reworked Kobe Bryant signature shoe a black leather makeover. The new all-black colorway ditches the tech Primeknit upper usually found on the modernized model for a new supple leather construction accented by a neoprene tongue and bold stiff heel tab. While thick black rope laces and a clunky black sole unit rounds up the design of the shoe. Retailing at $140 USD, the “Black Leather” adidas Crazy 1 ADV is available now at retailers like Oneness.
Nike Air Max Plus Cargo Khaki Dark Stucco Release Date
Nike Air Max Plus Cargo Khaki Dark Stucco Release Date
We recently heard from Nike‘s footwear designer Sean McDowell that the Air Max Plus was inspired by “palm trees blowing in the wind,” thus it’s only fitting that the famous ’90s sneaker’s latest colorway is an earthy “Cargo Khaki” scheme.

The retro runner’s distinctly wavy upper boasts a dark olive green nylon mesh base and gradient dark-to-light olive rubber overlay. A leather heel counter adds a premium touch to the popular model, bright yellow and red “Tn AIR” accents at the heel and outsole add some subtle vibrancy, while a color-blocked midsole in light olive, white and dark olive further accentuates the sneaker’s bold, sculptural look.

Flip through the photo set above and head over to select Nike retailers such as Footshop now to pick up a pair of the Air Max Plus in “Cargo Khaki” for $197 USD. For something more 2000s, the Nike Shox sneaker makes a return at a Sneakeasy pop-up.
adidas YEEZY calabasas Powerphase Kanye West Rascal Rumor
adidas YEEZY calabasas Powerphase Kanye West Rascal Rumor
While Kanye West didn’t invent the Powerphase — the model is an OG adidas archive silhouette from the ’80s — the retro sneaker’s return to streetwear relevancy is definitely due to Ye’s Calabasas cosign. Now riding on the current YEEZY Powerphase hype, adidas is planning to offer its own Powerphase model to the general public for 2018, according to Yeezy Mafia.

adidas’s general release Powerphase is reportedly going to be called the Rascal. It stays pretty true to the OG Powerphase’s blueprint with an old school EVA midsole, perforated toe box, adidas branding window accent at the side, and overall leather upper construction. One subtle design update, however, is seen at the side panel where the original perforated Three Stripes motif is replaced with a red and blue strap that stretches from the mudguard to the ankle collar. What indicates this Powerphase’s direct YEEZY inspiration is the fact that one of its debut colorways will be called “Semi Frozen Yellow.”

There are no confirmed details on this potential adidas Rascal model, but sources are stating a slated June 2018 drop and a $90 USD retail price. Check out the two potential debut colorways of the adidas Powerphase-inspired sneakers above and let us know if you’re a fan.
