FRESH KICKS: Maison Margiela 2015 Spring/Summer Cut Out Sneaker/ JBF Customs Air Jordan I "Bape"/ Nike Air Python PRM Black/Gum/ Nike CJ3 Flyweave Trainer "Paintball"/ adidas ZX Flux "Color Splash"
Maison Margiela has partnered with Barneys New York for the exclusive 2015 spring/summer release of the Cut Out sneaker. This lightweight silhouette has a modern, streamlined design and is fashioned from a mixed construction of suede and mirrored leather. It features mesh inset accents, white stitching, a padded tongue, enlarged white laces, and a gum midsole and outsole. Two distinct colorways are offered: bright red and blue. The Maison Margiela Cut Out sneaker launches June 12 exclusively at Maison Margiela boutiques and Barneys New York locations across America, as well as Barneys online at a price of $895 USD.
Jacob Ferrato’s JBF Customs has begun opening orders for a remade Nike Air Jordan I, decked out in the iconic BAPE camouflage and branding. The customization will feature pieces from an actual BAPE jacket and black denim. Easily passable for a real collaboration, the shoe is high quality and all personally customized. Only five pairs will be produced, one being Ferrato’s own. If you’d like to get your hands on a pair, it’ll set you back $1,500 USD with only four pre-order slots available. Head over to JBF’s site now to check out more.
Offering a clean, nearly all-black aesthetic is the latest edition of the Air Jordan 2-esque Air Python from Nike Sportswear. Ditching the pearlescent finish and bold hues of the past two releases, the latest Python opts instead for a tonal black upper of faux snake skin, coupling the leather upper with a matching air-cushiond midsole and gum rubber outsole. The premium black kicks are now available via VILLA for $150 USD.
Having already dropped “Radioactive” and “Georgia Peach” editions of the low-top, Nike presents yet another colorful rendition of Calvin Johnson’s signature CJ3 Flyweave Trainer. Pairing a silvery Flyweave upper with a bright red toe Swoosh, green laces, white midsole, and icy rubber outsole, the kicks don multicolored Dynamic Flywire, a speckled midsole top line, and a splatter motif along the lateral Swoosh and lining — a nod to Megatron’s love for the game of paintball. Retailing for $160 USD, the “Paintball” edition of the CJ3 Flyweave Trainer is due out Friday, June 26 at select Nike stockists and nike.com.
For this spring/summer season, adidas presents a vibrant colorway for a classic silhouette with the ZX Flux “Color Splash.” The shoe is constructed with a mesh and vegan upper, and its R White/RWhite/MghSolid Grey colorway dresses the model in a white base with a gray sculpted heel guard, a white midsole, white laces, and white Trefoil branding on the sides. A bright multicolored paint splatter pattern is featured on the toe box. You can purchase the adidas ZX Flux “Color Splash” now at Afew-Store for approximately $100 USD.
