FRESH KICKS: Nike Air Max 95 "USA"/ Solebox x PUMA Trinomic XS850 Adventurer Pack/ Pigalle x NikeLab Dunk/ Nike KD 8 "Crimson Red"

Nike Air Max 95 "USA"
Just about every sneaker in the Swoosh repertoire has been outfitted with some form of patriotic color palette, including Kevin Durant’s yet-to-release eighth signature silhouette. Here we find the Air Max 95 joining the fold under the Sportswear umbrella, releasing in its own “USA” colorway for the summertime. This version though is perhaps one of the more straightforward executions of recent, with the AM95′s paneled upper done up in red synthetic and mesh with a true navy lining. The collar is richly printed with tonal blue stars to further emphasize the American flag motif, all of which rests atop a clean white Zoom Air outsole with gum outsole trim. Enjoy photos above and head over to select stockists like Rock City Kicks to purchase this drop in the coming days.
A Closer Look at the Solebox x PUMA Trinomic XS850 Adventurer Pack
Perennial German sneaker boutique Solebox has teamed up with PUMA on the “Adventurer Pack,” featuring PUMA’s classic Trinomic XS850 silhouette. Another peg to add to PUMA’s list of stellar collaborations, this time two colorways make up the pack. Firstly, the “Angel Falls” colorway is centered around a pastel tonal blue adorning the style’s upper, complemented with a crisp white midsole and speckled heel panel. The “Angel Falls/Black” colorway features the same pastel blue finished off with black panels. Both styles are comprised of premium suede and adorns Solebos branding upon its heel tab.  The pack comes with a blast from the past, with Jelly Belly packaging and a scented Jelly Bean perfect for your car or sneaker shelf. In addition, a custom pair of limited edition, made in Germany Burlington socks come with the pack, available nowhere else. Anticipate this pair to drop June 26 at Solebox’s retail store and online for €130 EUR (approximately $145 USD).
A First Look at the Pigalle x NikeLab Dunk
After numerous successful releases in 2014, Nike and Pigalle rekindle their relationship with a collaborative take on the iconic Dunk silhouette. The timeless hi-top is rendered in a black base, and features an all-over white speckled print, which can be seen on many of the Parisian brand’s garments, the Swoosh rendered in a translucent rubber material, and Pigalle’s upside down “P” branding placed at the heel counter. Technical elements are also incorporated in this design, including a translucent mudguard that wraps around the entire upper, rubber reinforcement for increased support, and a transparent lacelock for an improved fit. The weatherized upper is placed atop of a tonal black midsole, further accentuating the speckled pattern. Pigalle’s brainchild Stephane Ashpoole is an avid basketball enthusiast, making this silhouette an obvious choice for a collaboration.
Ideal for a game of basketball, both indoor and outdoor, purchase the Pigalle x NikeLab Dunk along with the T-shirt at select retailers including Dover Street Market starting June 27. Expect to see some more Pigalle x Nike goods to be released later on in the year.
Nike KD 8 "Crimson Red"
Nike and Kevin Durant have unveiled two technical firsts in a Nike Basketball shoe for the brand’s latest collaboration with the Oklahoma City Thunder forward. Originally teased via a sketch from designer Leo Chang on Durant’s Twitter and featuring a Flyweave upper and an articulated full-length Zoom Air unit, the shoe is designed to provide Durant with a versatility, fit and responsiveness unlike any previous Nike release. “It is the most technically precise shoe we’ve designed for Kevin. Flyweave is optimal for his multidimensional skillset and footwork as he jumps, cuts, jabs and accelerates” explained Chang on his latest masterpiece, which also features Chang a one-of-a-kind heel design for the KD8 that mimics a sabertooth’s fangs as a nod to the Sabertooth tattoo on Durant’s calf.
