KICKS: NikeLab Air Zoom Elite 8/ Nike Free Inneva Woven "Light Stone"/ The Nike Kobe X Elite/ Nike Air Max 95 Silver/Charcoal Grey JD Sports Exclusive/ Nike Free Hypervenom 2 "Wolf Grey"
NikeLab has unveiled two more limited edition takes on the Air Zoom Elite 8 to coincide with the predominately green version of Nike’s flagship Zoom runner. Like the aforementioned green take, these offer bold split color-blocking across the entirety of their Flymesh upper, coupling neutral hues with metallic Swoosh branding “for a modern expression of lightning fast quickness.” As per usual, the NikeLab take on the silhouette — Nike’s lightest Zoom design yet — boasts Flywire support and a low 8mm offset for close-to-the-ground control.
Like the green colorway, the black version of the kicks is available now exclusively from London’s 1948 while the white and tan version of the shoe will soon be available from NikeLab accounts across the globe.
Existing in stark contrast to the bold monochromatic hues that highlight Nike Sportswear’s upcoming summertime editions of the Inneva is this “Light Stone” edition of the comfy woven kicks. Seemingly a supplement to the Anthracite/Dark Grey-White pair that dropped back in April, these see a woven upper of light grey nylon and a matching midsole top line as navy blue takes care of the leather heel counter and waxed cotton rope laces. As per usual, the design comes capped off with Nike’s original Free 5.0 sole unit for natural flexibility to complement that of the unique upper.
Retailing for $200 USD, the “Light Stone” edition of the Free Inneva Woven is available now from NSW stockists like Tres Bien while supplies last.
Upon its release, the Nike Kobe X Elite represented a neat transition of Flyknit into the basketball sphere, offering a long-neglected sense of on-the-beat aesthetics to basketball styles. Having proved itself as a versatile silhouette, here we find the sneaker offered up on the NIKEiD pages, giving audiences a chance to experiment with the sneaker’s color palette and further expand on its street credibility. As a part of the maiden rollout, NIKEiD users can customize the Flyknit upper with solid or two-tone designs, while the rest of the sneaker is open game. Head over here to get started making your own pair, with pricing starting at $245 USD.
The UK’s JD Sports has dropped yet another exclusive from Nike Sportswear, this time in the form of the classic Air Max 95. Donning an official colorway of Silver/Charcoal Grey, the design pairs a black air-cushioned sole unit with a greyscale upper of leather and mesh as bright red accents take care of the nylon lacing loops and visible Max Air unit. Following up a bevy of spring and summer releases that included the likes of blue/white and anthracite/green offerings, the exclusive Silver/Charcoal Grey Air Max 95s are now available in-store and online while supplies last.
Nike is celebrating the release of the Hypervenom 2 with a new Free-assisted off-pitch take on the boot. An apt follow-up to the high- and low-top versions of the original Free Hypervenom, this successor retains the “Wolf Grey” aesthetic of its on-pitch brethren while ditching its bold orange accents. Reworked to incorporate a breathable bootie of mesh and neoprene, the kicks see the mesh construction extended the the entirety of the upper while the boot’s Flywire support remains intact. Finished with asymmetrical lacing and a speckled Free 3.0 sole unit, the brand new Free Hypervenom 2 will debut July 6 at NSW stockists like Switzerland’s Titolo.
