Tom Ford presents a run of luxury sneakers in time for spring. Featuring premium suede, the new Russel shoes are rendered in rich colors such as light grey and indigo. The Italy-made sneakers are available in both high and low-top versions, with our personal favorite being the blue low-tops. See more of Tom Ford’s latest deliveries here.
For followers of all things menswear, Nick Wooster’s name is immediately recognized. Ironically enough, the same can be said of Italian clothier Lardini where textiles are concerned. It was perhaps, then, a natural progression for Mr. Wooster to create two pairs of slip ons using some of Lardini’s most classic textiles. The limited edition shoes, released today, were handmade in Civitanova, Italy and are available exclusively through Greats.
Wooster, who is a longtime advocate of the slip on silhouette, chose olive and khaki cotton canvas, and a black and white wool houndstooth pattern as his primary materials. He also intentionally mismatched the patterns on the left and right shoes, creating an off-kilter yet still attractive sensibility. Adding yet more individuality are extra-thick Margom outsoles, which work well to add both height and interest to the rather subdued body. Only 50 pairs of each shoe style were produced, so if you’re interested now is the time to scoop yours up. It should also be noted that Wooster previously collaborated on a clothing capsule with Lardini–it might be worth it to grab a few items to complement the shoes.
They’re available now for $280 via Greats’ website.
For Spring/Summer 2015, Paul Smith offers footwear in bold colors alongside classic black and brown. The collection sees oxfords, derbies and boots rendered in beautiful burgundy and blue, as well as dip-dyed options. Silhouettes range from formal to casual, with high-shine and pared-down options alike.
Of all the choices, our favorite has to be the Burgundy Suede Falconer Chelsea Boots. The sleek silhouette and low design make this pair subtle, while the burgundy color adds just enough pop to keep things interesting.
Other highlights include the Dusty Pink Suede Grand Brogues, Navy Dip-Dyed Leather Stevenson Tassel Loafers and the Black and Teal High-Shine Leather Thom Shoes. The entire collection is available here with prices from $285.
Sperry Top-Sider teams up with Gothenburg apparel brand Velour by Nostalgi once again, releasing a floral take on two iconic Sperry footwear styles. The release revamps the Sperry CVO and CVO Chukka with a Japanese jacquard denim floral print, inspired by Velour’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
Velour by Nostalgi started out as a group project amongst Per Andersson and some friends, and sold deadstock goods from Andersson’s grandmother’s ready-to-wear store. After Velour picked up a following, the team behind the goods began designing their own clothing, and launched their first collection 10 years ago in 2005. It’s at this nexus between heritage and innovation that Sperry comes in – a tried and true classic that remains contemporary and appropriate for an urban environment.
The Sperry for Velour shoes will be available starting April 22 at select Sperry and Velour retailers.
