NEW KICKS: Nike Huarache NM "Red"/ Nike LeBron 12 Low "USA"/ Nike Air Max 90 25th Anniversary "Infrared" Pack/ Nike Air Python PRM "Red"/ A Closer Look at the Taka Hayashi x Vault by Vans TH Priz LX
The all-red trend looks alive and well despite seeing an ostensible peak last year, with Nike lending responsibility to the Huarache NM to carry the torch. Here we find the recently-introduced Huarache NM done up in glorious red, with the neoprene and mesh upper matching the Free-infused outsole. The cage-like rope lacing system, a clever deconstruction of the original midfoot unit, is also decidedly red, but speckled with light accents. Pick up this version of the sneaker at retailers such as Asphalt Gold beginning May 30.
After making their debut on the feet of King James himself last week as the Cavs took on the Miami Heat in Cleveland, the patriotic “USA” edition of the LeBron 12 Low is now available from Nike Basketball. Marking what’s easily the cleanest take yet on the low-top silhouette, the “USA” release sports an official colorway of White/Midnight Navy-University Red-Metallic Gold, coupling a breathable white synthetic upper with a metallic gold Swoosh, gum sole, and a combination of red and blue accents throughout. Fans can find these now for $175 USD via Foot Locker.
Adding to the existing canon of Air Max 90 silhouettes in celebration of the sneaker’s 25th anniversary is a new pack from Nike. The three-part “Infrared” pack plays on one of the most popular sneaker colorways in history, making some bold assertions on the shoe. One version combines black crocodile and smooth patent leather throughout the upper, while the other two fashion grey paisley print and blue snakeskin respectively. All three iterations are built atop a very clean white and red midsole. Pick up your favorite versions from the “Infrared” pack at stateside retailers in the coming weeks.
While a pearlescent take on the ’80s high-top is due out later this season, Nike Sportswear has preceded the upcoming drop with an all-red version of the Air Jordan 2-esque Air Python. Decked out in faux snakeskin, the premium kicks adopt a monochromatic look that sees red stretching from the lining and laces all the way across the entirety of the upper and down to the sole unit. Though currently sold out at Berkeley’s Bows & Arrows, the all-red premium edition of the Air Python should be available soon at additional Nike Sportswear stockists.
Taka Hayashi has released another luxurious sneaker under Vans’ premium Vault by Vans line. The TH Prix LX is a reissue of the deluxe silhouette, featuring its renowned craftsmanship and high-end materials. Inspired by the build of the Vans Prison Issue, the elevated design is based off the low-top and features an off-white canvas upper with a brown leather heel. The shoe is completed with perforated heels, embroidered ankle straps and tonal waxed laces for a distinctly tribal feel. The shoe is available for purchase at Wish Atlanta’s Moreland Avenue location as well as online.
