RIDES: Flying Huntsman 105 Defender Pickup by Kahn Design / A Look at a Vintage Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider / BMW Motorrad Japan Ignite Straight Six

Flying Huntsman 105 Defender Pickup by Kahn Design
The British Land Rover tuning specialists at Kahn Design unveils its latest creation – the Flying Huntsman 105 Defender. Land Rovers are arguably some of the most robust vehicles out there, but if you’re looking for something that has even more extraordinary off-road capabilities, this robust pick-up is definitely worthy of consideration. Kahn added over 15 inches to the truck’s wheel base and front end, while adding six inches to its width for increased steadiness. Retrofitted fenders, wheel arches, headlamps, bumpers, grille, hood, side steps and 18-inch wheels enhance the durability of the vehicle, while the matte black finish adds nice sleek touch. Priced at £58,875 GBP (approximately $89,351 USD), the Flying Huntsman 105 Defender is available on a customized-to-order basis.

A Look at a Vintage Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider
While the cost of a new Ferrari might be steep, you might want to prepare yourself for the price tag on this vintage beauty. The Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider is one of only 56 ever made — just 16 of which had open headlights — and has a storied history: Delivered new within Italy, it remained there until 1974 when it moved to Switzerland for 20 years. It recent years it has undergone full restoration by Ferrari’s own Classiche department, has been displayed at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello and was even driven by Luca di Montezemolo himself in the parade at the Finali Mondiali in Valencia a few years ago. Now it’s going up for auction by RM Sotheby’s at Villa d’Este next month, and is expected to fetch an enormous sum based on the fact that the last time a California Spider was sold, it went for a record $18.5 million USD, and that was an unrestored model.

BMW Motorrad Japan Ignite Straight Six

Two masters of the custom motorcycle world come together in a new project from BMW Motorrad Japan, dubbed “Ignite Straight Six.” Taking to the K1600 GTL model, which already boasts a six-cylinder engine with 1649cc displacement, renowned workshops Ken’s Factory and Hot-Dock Custom Cycles both radically overhauled the silhouette to execute their own versions. The “Ken’s Factory Special” is a lithe, streamlined chopper-style bike that was created with a revamped headstock, cowl and two handmade aluminum forks at the front. In lieu of the rear subframe and seat, designer Kenji Nagai opted for a low-riding aluminum seat, which rests above an exposed 20-inch rear tire. On the other side of the spectrum, the “Juggernaut” by Kenji Kawakita is husky and bullyish, sparing no detail to create an imposing presence. The body has been exaggerated by an aluminum tubing skeleton that houses the internal engine, giving the bike a military edge. Check out both options above and head to either Ken’s Factory or Hot-Dock‘s website to learn more about their works.
