FRESH KICKS: Nike Flyknit Air Max Black/Chlorine Blue-Total Orange-White/ Naked x Reebok Ventilator/ Air Jordan 1 Mid "Hare Jordan"/ adidas Energy Boost Limited Collegiate Navy/Off White/ New Balance 574 "Distinct Weekend Bag"
In the wake of international Air Max Day, here Nike again combines two of its most beloved proprietary technologies to deliver a new silhouette. The Flyknit Air Max, while floating around internationally for some time, has finally arrived stateside on Nike’s website. The silhouette is more Flyknit than Air Max bloodline, combining a colorful polyester yarn knit upper on top of Nike’s ‘most flexible’ Air Max sole unit yet. Between the two technologies, a cushy sculpted cushion midsole adds yet another layer of comfort and protection. At the outsole, a nifty waffle sole pattern takes notes from the redesigned Free tread, distributing weight and impact throughout the foot. For all these qualities, Nike is suggesting a retail price tag of $225. Pick up this version of the Flyknit Air Max online now.
Denmark’s Naked is the latest retailer to take on the Ventilator, linking up with Reebok for a 25th anniversary nod to the retro runner. Decked out in white leather with matching breathable mesh paneling, the kicks sport contrasting black speckling throughout and are set off with a translucent teal rubber outsole. Finished with a dash of teal on the tongue branding badge, the Naked x Reebok Ventilator is due out April 10 in limited quantities at select Reebok stockists.
A now-iconic relationship that was seminal in the world of collaborations, here Jordan Brand and Warner Brothers reprise their partnership some 23 years later. The “Hare Jordan” motif makes an unprecedented, but very welcome return to shelves for the new season, this time expressed on the Air Jordan 1 Mid. The upper has been executed with the same white, grey and red hits throughout the premium leather upper, accented with a geometric pattern at the neoprene tongue — a nod to the original Air Jordan VII. Other details include a “HARE” patch on the tongue, which finds Bugs’ silhouette in the likeness of His Airness, as well as a similar tab above the heel counter. Returning for the first time since 2009, the “Hare Jordan 1″ is set to hit retailers like Hanon beginning April 4.
The popular adidas Energy Boost silhouette gets a catchy makeover with a graphic print in the “Collegiate Navy/Off-White” iteration. An all-over upper print featuring graphic lines in navy and off-white adorns the shoe, while navy accents complete the shoe. Set atop a white midsole and navy outsole, the shoe is an eye-catching iteration of the regular style. The shoe is available now at select adidas retailers, as well as Titolo, for €185 EUR (approximately $200 USD).
Have a look at New Balance’s 574 “Distinct Weekend Bag” sneaker. The popular 574 silhouette boasts a deep red hue and premium suede construction. Portraying the native heritage motif are the complementary tones courtesy of navy blue accents as seen on the streak across the white midsole and the leather upper back heel tab, the black painted back heel piece, and maple colored big “N” logo. KITH has stocked the shoes on its webstore for the retail price of $200 USD.
